SIS Student Wins National First Prize in 21st Century Cup English Speaking Competition
From October 16 to 21, 2024, the national finals of the 29th China Daily "21st Century Cup" National English Speaking Competition were held in Shanghai. Chen Luran, a 2022 undergraduate majoring in Law and English (supervised by lecturer Su Yurong), competed against over 240 contestants from more than 30 regional divisions across China. After two rounds of semi-finals, her outstanding performance secured her a spot among the top 24 finalists, earning her a place on the competition’s highest stage and ultimately the National First Prize. This marks the first time since 2020 that a UIBE student has won a national first prize in the 21st Century Cup, underscoring the success of the School of International Studies in cultivating top-tier talent.
